Dissident Mama, episode 7 – Jon Harris

Episode 7 features Jon Harris, the host of the indispensable Conversations That Matter podcast. In it, this bold Christian truth-teller and I discuss the riots, critical theory, the “new religion” of anti-whiteness, the importance of Southern history, and much more. It’s a dose of realism and hope all rolled into one informative package.

Unfortunately, we did not get to talk about Harris’ book “Sacred Conviction: The South’s Stand for Biblical Authority,” which was written under a pen name for reasons I’m sure you can guess (read: anarcho-tyranny), but he’s proud to call it his own. Maybe we’ll get Harris back on again some time to discuss this work. My guess is that with the way Woke-Murica’s barreling toward the cliff of nihilism, we won’t be wanting for new discussion topics.

In the meantime, let’s pray for the repentance and salvation of our enemies, pray for the clarity and courage of our fellow Christians, and pray for the destruction of evil. Let’s trust in the Lord and keep trying to do as best as possible what He has commanded us to do. Like the godly General Robert E. Lee once wrote, “Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more; you should never wish to do less.” Amen to that.

Note: Here’s the Harvard “whiteness” debate I referenced during the interview. I link to it only because it has been scrubbed from YouTube and is pretty hard to find these days. Behold the “social justice” that awaits us if we don’t reject false prophets and embrace Jesus. Lord have mercy.

A lot here – more than I can comment on right now – but another fantastic guest and interview, DM!

I guess I’ve been living under a rock, but I don’t know that I’d ever heard of intersectionality, critical race theory, etc. (Marxism, obviously, yes, but not these other terms). Beyond raising my awareness of such things, though, listening to Brother Jon has helped me get more of a handle on that nagging, previously illusive thing that has bothered me about some of the things I’ve heard and read from some among our leadership. Often, there are things you can agree with, but there’s just enough of the undefinable “something” that’s just off.

Thanks for listening and commenting. According to my stats, the podcast has been downloaded 100+ times, yet crickets on the comments. So, that makes you super-duper awesome!!
Yep, left-ese is one bizarre language that’s hard to keep up with – constantly changing, constantly undoing old language and reinventing new silliness, thus, always upping the ante of one’s attainable wokeness. I actually got reminded of this blog post of mine from nearly 3 years ago. Someone emailed me and said it helped them understand “our grim reality.” http://www.dissidentmama.net/freedom-vs-anarcho-tyranny/
This blog here also talks about “intersectional” madness, which is a favorite of the feminists. http://www.dissidentmama.net/real-women-dont-march-we-do/
So glad Jon’s wise words were a balm for you. He’s such an incredibly smart and kind gentleman. You should check out his website and his Sacred Conviction book, too – both are indispensable, IMHO.
      Take care, DD 🙂

Late to the party here, DM, but I’m a couple hundred miles from home doing the finish work on a cousin’s addition to his house and a little remodel work in part of the original house. Left the tablet and the laptop at home, and I ain’t as good at typing text by thumbs as I am with a keyboard, but here goes:

Another good show and another good guest. I don’t agree with all of Mr. Harris’s opinions on matters discussed as he expressed them, but I agree with most of what he said in any case. As to what I disagree with, well, let’s just say that I have a couple decades plus on him, and figure he’ll eventually come to the knowledge of the truth in due course and time of things. Specifically, there’s nothing wrong with segregation laws, and in fact everything right about them given the world we all live in (as opposed to the world some of us seem to wish we lived in). But at 31 years old I might have still clung to the belief that segregation was mostly a bad thing. Might have. I kind of doubt it, though, given the education I got on “blackness” while in the USAF.

As far as “racism” goes, Mr. Harris is of course right that it exists and always shall exist. I’ve been called a “racist” (among other taboo things) more times than I care to count during my 54 years on this mortal coil. I’m too old and tired (tired of being lectured by know nothing Yankee do-gooders) to worry myself with those sorts of accusations anymore. Like water off a duck’s back, don’t ya know, but that’s the nature of such things; people overdo it to the point that the recipient of the insult becomes immune to it, or, rather, to its intended effects. I know, in any case, that, as with crime statistics in the good ol’ US of A, about thirteen percent of the US population is guilty of about 55 percent of the genuine hatred of a race based on their skin color alone. I don’t count the self-loathing whites in that assessment because, after all, self-loathing and racism aren’t the same things.

But anyway, those are a couple of my criticisms of Mr. Harris’s opinions, for what it’s worth. However and as I’ve said about a million times in the past, each of us comes to the realization of the truth on such matters in his own sweet time. Or not. 🙂

I’ve missed ya, Terry! Probably a good thing you left the laptop behind when at your cousin’s. I’m sure you had a fine time doing normal things with normal people – both of which are in short supply these days.

Sure, I don’t agree with Jon on everything. To me, segregation is a very natural thing. People generally hangout with people who share their worldview. As the libertarians would say, it’s voluntary association. Governments imposing it becomes another matter, and then governments abolishing it and then implementing forced associations via busing, integrated schools, and other egalitarian social experiments is, well, madness and is the reason we have much of the social strife we have today. Kinda like immediate emancipation and how it set the stage for the klan and then black-power movements. Couple all that with the destruction and poverty thrust upon the South (both black and white) at the hands of the feds, and that’s quite a recipe for disaster. After all, what is secession if not a statement for hanging out with your own peeps? Even Malcolm X could appreciate that, which is why the feds offed him.

Yes, the FBI statistics are there for the world to see, but alas, it’s easier to parrot the fashion. There is definitely systemic racism, but it’s aimed right at my white, straight, Southern, Christian sons. The entire riot narrative is built upon lies, which makes the do-gooders complicit in evil, IMHO. This would include the clergy, and the Evangeleftist and Ameridox masses who simply don’t know enough about history or reality to even make an informed decision on any of the matters being brought up today. Their “activism” and breathless statements are based on sand, and not the rock of truth.

Thanks for letting me vent, TM, and as always, thanks for listening and commenting. Stay tough, brother … see ya in the gulag.

I didn’t understand the South until I lived in Charlotte, NC and got interested in the books by the Kennedy Twins. History is written by the winners, so you get southern demonization, when the real aggressors were the Northerners.

    1. Dissident Mama

Welcome to the party, Eileen. Better late than never, just like me. 🙂
Here’s a little bit of my back story. It may be reminiscent to your journey “from the dark side.” http://www.dissidentmama.net/rebel-with-a-cause/

But whoever introduced you the the Kennedy Bros should be thanked, for those gentlemen warriors have been preaching truth for waaaaaaaaay longer than me. It sucks to be under the thumb of the aggressive Northern ideology, which has borne this cultural-Marxist hate, but at least it’s real easy to spot the good guys these days. There may be few of us, but we are beacons of light and truth. Thanks for being one of ’em, shiny sister. God bless!

Only slightly OT, DM – but ONLY slightly!. At any rate, I’ll put a link below to an article I just read from Daisy Luther over at her blog/website/thingy. Anyway, I mentioned that I’m a former Army Chaplain. Well, the lights went on when I read her article today, and recognized the material that was used where I used to work. That was back in ’07 or ’08.

Again, I don’t believe much of our gov’t has the competence to pull off a really good conspiracy, but it makes me wonder if indeed the material Jon is talking about here and in his other podcasts, is related to what Miss Daisy posted today; however, I’m certain that foreign actors are very much attempting to foment and use what we see now to our demise.

    Anyway, food for thought!

    1. Dissident Mama

Intriguing post. I think it can be both governmental and globalists interests and opportunists at every level taking advantage. Just like the covid thing, it’s from the top, from the bottom, and everywhere (and everyone) in between. History is our playbook and nothing is new under the sun, as King Solomon said.

I’m not sure what Daisy means when she says “the causes are not unjust.” This is what I’m blogging about now – the myth that there is systemic racism against black folks or even that they’re disproportionately abused by police. This is what’s driving me most crazy about the whole thing; it’s that people are basing their support of the BLM-Antifa-government-media-academia-church cabal on fallacies and outright lies and backing it up with bad history and unhinged emotion, violence and vandalism. You can’t have moral indignation when you’re participating in deception. And the thing with libertarians is that they want the police privatized, as do I, but what will it be replaced with? More government for me, more regulation for me, more censorship for me, more crime for me, more jail time for me if I use force to defend life and property. So I really don’t think the cause is just from the get go. https://youtu.be/u9OTpcLbfF8

Anyhoo, just my two cents. I don’t even know if that’s what Daisy was inferring, but it sure what most of the foot-washers and knee-benders are spouting. Damn lies.

As always, thanks for sharing your thoughts. 🙂
